This week I have really been praying about my choice of curriculum for this fall. I would really like to make my own curriculum. I have been praying about creative ideas. I have a soon to be 9 yr old who really is struggling with Phonics & Reading. We used 100 easy lessons but I dont feel as if he got what he needed. Anyone struggle with this? Its the change over from short to long vowels where he struggles.
I plan to use Story of the World 2 , LLATL , Zoology by Jeannie Fulbright, we will be doing some notebooking, lapbooking and some copy work. I want to make thing a lott more fun this year, I am trying to make schedules for everyone to go by to make my schooling a lott more smoother. I have my grandson who is now 3.5 mos old and hsomeschooling 4 children is a little hard this year.
I am writing out the transcripts for Tasha this year and putting them on file in case I lose them. I will be making notebooks with their schedules, and assignments in one notebook, their copywork in another and then a notebook for their notebooking assignments. All they need to do is pull their notebooks out and do their work. I want to do french this year for their foreign language and also sign language.
I will be posting my schedules soon. See what your opinions are or suggestions? Blessings!!!
What a day today, we went to church and then came home and ate together with hubby. He is on call this weekend and all week so we don’t get to see much of him. But church was so awesome this morning. I went up for prayer as I have been in so much pain and I am just believing for my healing. God is able. We are praying about getting some property so we can put a house on it. I like it here but I also miss north GA….living in the mountains for a few years made me love it so much there.
I have been working on school work for this fall, its so hard to decide sometimes, I do have to get something for the boy’s as they are having such a hard time with reading and phonics. I used 100 easy lessons and Noah isn’t doing that well. I think we missed something somewhere. Well this week is going to be a busy week so I will try to post again soon.
Today is Sunday, we went to church this morning and had a really nice Father’s Day. The kids got their Dad a Georgia Bulldog T-shirt, and Michalea got him a Georgia Bulldog Hat…we also made him a nice dinner and we cooked out and then watched a movie together as a family. We we’re listening to D James Kennedy before going to church this morning and he spoke about father’s and about our relationship with our earthly father’s and he spoke about a few well known people and their relationships with their father’s and how it impacted their lives the wrong way.
He spoke of the verse about in the last days that the Lord will turn the hearts of the children to their father’s and I believe there is going to be a great restoration of families. I pray that for my own family. I want our children to always know we love them and we’re always there for them. As some of you dont know, I have a daughter who just had our first grandson and she is a single Mom, and I want her to know how much we love her and we are so proud of her and that she has a hope and a future, and Isaac is such a blessing. I now have another daughter who is going to be a Mom in January, she is going to be a single Mom too, so the Lord is teaching us to love our children in spite of their failures, just as God does us. Too many people who are supposed to be Christians just reject their children when they find themselves in these situations, we have chosen to love them and to help them, and they will find their way back into the Lord’s arms. If we had not done this with my oldest daughter she would not be in church and trying to turn her life around.
I thank God for his grace, mercy, peace and love for us as we are walking through these situations.
